New Japan Pro-Wrestling is looking for a new network in the United States following their departure from AXS television at the end of 2019.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, New Japan Pro-Wrestling is in early talks with Viceland to bring episodes of its programming to the United States.
Viceland, now known as Vice on TV in the United States has a majority stake owned by A&E networks.
The process of solidifying a deal between NJPW and Vice will be a long process due to TV-Asahi owning the rights to the footage. The previous deal was originally between AXS and TV-Asahi.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling was removed from AXS TV programming following the purchase of the network from Anthem Entertainment, the owner of IMPACT Wrestling.
