New Japan Pro Wrestling reportedly turned down a deal with ViceTV last year.

On Monday, MLW announced a new television deal with ViceTV, which will see their content broadcasted onto the platform. Whilst their previous deals with DAZN and beIN Sport will continue, there are hopes that this will bring more eyes to their product.

PWInsider is reporting that sources at ViceTV have noted that New Japan Pro Wrestling turned down a deal that was similar to the one offered and accepted by MLW.

Instead, the company opted to sign a deal with Roku earlier this year, which will see weekly one-hour shows brought to the platform. PWInsider noted that NJPW has had talks with several broadcast providers in recent months, with the Roku deal reportedly not being exclusive.

MLW’s partnership with ViceTV will reportedly begin this May. You can read more on this here.
