The Wednesday Night Wars may be over next month.

According to the Mat Men Podcast, which is part of Figure Four Online/Wrestling Observer, a ‘very reliable source’ has informed them that NXT will be moving to Tuesday nights, putting an end to the Wednesday Night Wars’ against AEW Dynamite. The new schedule will reportedly begin on Tuesday April 13th, which is also the first episode of NXT after WrestleMania 37.

This comes after NBC announced that they would be shutting down their Sports Network (NBCSN), with NASCAR and NHL programming likely being moved to USA Network, the current home of NXT.

In January, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that NXT’s contract with USA Network would be expiring in October, with the show likely being moved to Tuesdays or Thursdays if USA renewed their contract.

Following the recent report emerging, Dave Meltzer confirmed that there were talks in the WWE Headquarters on February 24th of NXT potentially moving days, however ‘nothing was final’ at that point.

This will be a great change for both AEW Dynamite and NXT, hopefully leading to a boost in ratings with fans not having to decide over which show they watch. The same can’t be said for Impact Wrestling, which currently airs at 8pm EST on Tuesday Nights on both AXSTV and Twitch. AEW Dark also airs on Tuesday nights, which could go into the first hour of NXT depending on when it airs.

The report from Mat Men Podcast also noted that an official announcement on the situation is expected to be released fairly soon’.
