WWE Still Pushing To Have Alexa Bliss vs. Natalya at Super ShowDown

WWE’s bid to host a women’s match for the first time in Saudi Arabia remains uncertain.

Natalya and Alexa Bliss are currently in Jeddah alongside the WWE crew ahead of tomorrow’s WWE Super ShowDown event. The company has plans for them to have a match, but the approval by the General Sports Authority has yet to be given.

Dave Meltzer notes in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there is no confirmation whether the match will or will not take place.

“At one point, evidently the government told WWE that they would allow them to have a women’s bout on the 6/7 show in Jeddah” Meltzer stated. “WWE never spoke a word about it, because it would be an embarrassment if they promoted it and then got the thumbs down when they arrived.”

Renee Young and Natalya shared photos during their journey to Jeddah, and Alexa Bliss only posted one photo in Germany, while the charted flight WWE hired had a layover. The company has yet to acknowledge them as being in the country.
