Reason Why NXT Team Was Split
The reason behind Indus Sher’s breakup has seemingly been revealed.
The team, consisting of Saurav Gurjar and Rinku Singh, debuted alongside their manager Malcolm Bivens during an episode of NXT in 2020, attacking then NXT Tag Team Champion Matt Riddle.
However, they quickly disappeared from television after Gurjar leaked the main event of NXT’s Great American Bash, which saw Keith Lee become the first-ever NXT and North American Champion.
Rinku Singh recently debuted on the main roster alongside Jinder Mahal, however, fans were confused to see that his partner, Gurjar, wasn’t present. The reason behind this has now been revealed.
Fightful Select (subscription required) reports that Saurav Gurjar simply wasn’t deemed television ready. Instead, Dilsher Shanky has joined Singh as part of Jinder Mahal’s new faction.
The report also noted that Mahal has been ready to return to WWE return for several months, with his last appearance before his Raw return being at Super Spectacle 2020, where he ironically faced Rinku Singh in a six-man tag team match.
