WWE is expected to announce a major change to the main event of Wrestlemania 37.
Following Sunday’s Fastlane pay-per-view, with Edge seemingly turning heel, attacking both Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan, the Universal Championship match at Wrestlemania 37 will become a Triple Threat.
Dave Meltzer broke the story, revealing Roman Reigns will defend his WWE Universal Championship against Edge and Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania 37. WWE has yet to make an official announcement.
He spoke on the change during the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.
“When Vince decided to tear up the show, that was one of the matches. And not tear up the show, because most of the matches were the same, as they were. But he wanted some changes, he wasn’t satisfied, and evidently this is the match he wanted changed, the key match. There was all kinds of ideas thrown around, and from what I was told, most of them weren’t good, but this was the best of the ideas, to make it a three-way.”
Fightful Select added, internal WWE sources reveal the change was made internally as far back as the final week of February.
WWE Wrestlemania 37 will air on Saturday, April 10, and Sunday, April 11 on pay-per-view, Peacock, and WWE Network (International).
