Several scrapped plans for this year’s WWE Draft have reportedly been revealed.
WWE have now completed the 2021 Draft following picks being announced across Raw and SmackDown. Raw’s first draft pick was WWE Champion Big E, however this could have been very different according to PWInsider.
The report noted that there were plans to announce Bobby Lashley as Raw’s first Draft pick, with the idea being that fans would have to wait to find out Big E’s fate, especially when the rest of The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) were drafted to SmackDown.
This of course didn’t happen, with Big E being Raw’s first draft pick on Friday and Lashley also being drafted to the red brand during Monday’s show.
MVP is currently out of action after having knee surgery, however he’ll still be part of Raw – presumably with Bobby Lashley – once he returns.
The report also noted that there was ‘serious consideration’ put into breaking up The Street Profits during the Draft, with Montez Ford moving to Raw with his real life partner Bianca Belair, and Angelo Dawkins remaining on SmackDown.
This didn’t end up happening, as both members of The Street Profits were drafted to the red brand during Monday’s Raw.
