Last month, WWE announced their return to live touring, kicking off with a 25 show live tour starting in Texas.
Following the announcement, reports began to circulate stating that WWE had told talent that they were expected to work out at the WWE Performance Center over the next few weeks in preparation for their return to touring. This has been met with a mixed response, as per the Wrestling Observer.
The Wrestling Observer reports that WWE talents in the Orlando area aren’t too bothered about the change, however talents living further away from the WWE Performance Center weren’t happy, specifically those with a family. This is because it would obviously interrupt their routines and training, with many preferring to train by themselves closer to home.
It was also noted that going back on the road and getting paid to do so is one thing, however having to work away from home to take part in the Performance Center training without getting paid extra is very different, with wrestlers being independent contractors.
The Observer added that not all of WWE’s roster have to compete in the drills, with the higher tier talents having the option to not take part, especially those living further away from the Performance Center.
