Tonight’s SmackDown Live is currently undergoing a full rewrite, with only hours left before it airs.
According to Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, Vince McMahon was not satisfied the script for tonight’s show, and has decided to rewrite the whole episode. Something similar happened last week, when McMahon called in the creative team to rewrite the show prior to it beginning.
Heard from a few sources that Vince McMahon has decided he's not satisfied with tonight's #SDLive script and is re-doing the whole show with only 2 hours left before the SummerSlam go-home episode begins.
Tonight should be interesting.

According to Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer, at one point Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan was scheduled to be the main event for tonight’s SmackDown, but that may have been scrapped during the rewrite.
Vince tore up the show again, and unless he changes his mind between now and showtime the new Smackdown main event is Bryan vs. Kofi.

That didn’t take long. Looks like Bryan vs. Kofi changing as well.

McMahon recently appointed Eric Bischoff Executive Director of SmackDown, and since he has started his new role, he has yet to suggest or pitch any creative ideas that have made it TV. His creative influence currently non-existent, as he is familiarizing himself with the product.
From what I'm hearing, Eric Bischoff still hasn't had much influence on the creative direction of SmackDown Live. One source told me hasn't suggested or pitched anything that's made TV yet. Sounds like he's still getting familiar with his new surroundings.
