Vince McMahon Hated The Look Of Effects Makeup Used

WWE presented their Extreme Rules pay-per-view on Sunday, including two pre-taped matches during their broadcast.

Last night following the event, Mike Johnson noted on PWInsider Elite the Eye For An Eye Match between Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio was pre-taped earlier in the day at the Performance Center.

Vince McMahon was heavily involved in the production of the match, overseeing all aspects, including the choice of weapons, and Seth Rollins puking following the finish.

In an update Monday, Johnson reports one key part of the match was editing out.

What didn’t make the final cut of the broadcast was the use of prosthetic makeup, which Vince McMahon removed due to him “hating the look of the effect and sequence”.

Using prosthetic makeup, WWE shot an entire sequence that would have seen Mysterio’s eye pop out, which as scripted was the moment that would have “led” to Seth Rollins vomiting on-screen originally.  PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources that Vince McMahon hated the look of the effect and the sequence, so it was removed and edited out of the final broadcast of the Rollins vs. Mysterio bout.

Seth Rollins is scheduled to face Aleister Black during tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW. Rey Mysterio has yet to sign a new deal with WWE, and his current status is unknown.
