Update On WWE Live Events Returning
Aside from WrestleMania 37 several weeks ago WWE has been unable to run events with live crowds due to the COVID-19 outbreak that hit the world back in March 2020. However, it does seem that the company is in the very early planning stages to return touring.
According to PWInsider, WWE is hoping to begin testing events with crowds this summer, but it all depends on where things stand nationally with the pandemic, specifically whatever the local rules and regulations are in the different cities around the U.S. The report mentions that WWE would love to start this process as early as July or August, though the trigger has yet to be pulled due to them strategizing the best way to handle the situation.
WWE is also keeping a close eye on how the pandemic is playing out internationally so they can make the best-informed decision of where to start. As of this writing, there have not been any tour dates locked in or venues booked.
Nick Khan recently stated that if/when WWE decides to hit the road, it will be for the long-term, and not a temporary solution like them returning to the ThunderDome after Mania.
