WWE Hopeful Fans Can Be Present For SummerSlam
WWE SummerSlam is less than one month away, and the company has yet to confirm a location for their biggest event of the summer.
Reports emerged recently suggesting WWE was interested in the producing the pay-per-view at an outdoor location, with some internal talks suggesting the possibility of a boat or a beach.
Mike Johnson recently reported on PWInsider Elite, two WWE sources have spoken about the idea of having the event on a boat, but no finalized plans have been revealed.
Today, Wrestlevotes is reporting WWE is looking to host the show at an outdoor location in the Northeast. As of now, the company has yet to find a state willing to allow that.
WWE is also interested in allowing a limited number of fans at the show, which would likely include strict health guidelines, corresponding with state regulations.
WWE has looked into hosting SummerSlam within the Northeast at an outdoor location w/ limited fans, and as of now, have found no interested states in allowing that to happen.
Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania could be possible locations to host the show based on this report.
The company currently has two confirmed matches for the event, including WWE Champion Drew McIntyre defending against Randy Orton, and WWE RAW Tag Team Champions The Street Profits facing Angel Garza and Andrade.
WWE SummerSlam will take place on August 23, 2020 on pay-per-view and WWE Network.
