WWE is looking to create multiple new television shows, including NXT India, NXT developmental show, and a Lucha Libre series.
According to Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc., WWE is currently in early planning stages on a Mexican Lucha Libre series, which will air in the United States. The company is reportedly considering Chavo Guerrero Jr. as a consultant for the project.
Wrestling Inc. has learned that the company has also been discussing a Mexican Lucha Libre series, which would be an NXT Mexico of sorts. The show would reportedly air in the U.S. WWE has spoken with a few people about running the project, but it is very early on in the planning stages.
The report notes, one source compared the series to the WCW “Festival de Lucha” series, which was supposed to air on Telemundo in Mexico. The show never made it past a pilot, which can be viewed on the “Hidden Gems” section of the WWE Network.
