Ric Flair Not A Fan Of “Generic Promos” In WWE
This past week, Ric Flair was a guest on Busted Open Radio with Dave Lacreca, Tommy Dreamer and Bully Ray. He spent the majority of the interview telling stories, more specifically about his days partying in the 80s.
At one point in the interview, Bully Ray asked Flair about his current role in WWE alongside Randy Orton on Monday Night RAW.
“I’m making him (Randy Orton) have fun, are you kidding me? Flair stated. “I want them to let me wrestle R-Truth for the ’44/7′ title, I’m working on that.”
While most of what he said was lighthearted, he did seem a tad frustrated with how he is being portrayed on television.
“Can I just get in character one time? Just talking generically is killing me!” Flair stated. “You have to practice, you get overwhelmed with the points you have to make, in terms of the pay-per-view, and the people and all that. I’ve always struggled with that, but it’s so fun for me.”
Flair also spoke on the safety measures WWE is taking during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“They are doing everything possible to make sure the kids are being tested, and everybody is wearing a mask. It’s kind of a stressful thing, but I just have fun with all of them.”
Following the tapings Flair states he heads to the hotel and has drinks at the bar, and tries to convince others to join him to blow steam off. He talked about having drinks with Corey Graves, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Dunn and Mark Carano.
