Earlier today a report surfaced indicating Vince McMahon plans to step away from his behind the scenes role in WWE. The report indicates McMahon met with his “XFL circle” indicating he will step away for a short period of time depending on how well the NXT on USA and SmackDown on FOX transitions go.
As per Fightful Select, WWE sources close to the situation were quick to shut those rumours down. One source indicated the report was “BULLSH*T”.
Vince will have less time for his current role once XFL begins, but WWE sources claim that he is not stepping back.
Earlier this month, Vince McMahon spoke on WWE’s 2nd Quarter Investors call regarding hiring Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff as Executive Director’s of RAW and SmackDown. He stated doing so would assist with him spending more time on talent development and “not getting in the weeds”.
