Rusev Defends WWE Storyline Featuring His Wife Lana Having Affair With Bobby Lashley
While many fans are at odds with WWE’s affair storyline, Rusev couldn’t be more than happier with how it’s unfolding.
In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Rusev provided his thoughts on the angle involving his real life wife Lana, and current rival Bobby Lashley.
“How can I not be happy? It’s the hottest storyline in the whole WWE.” Rusev added. “Not many people are willing to do something like this, but we’re professionals so, of course, we’re used to it,” he stated.
The latest developments in the storyline took place during Monday Night RAW where Lana announced she was pregnant with Rusev’s child, then revealing it was a hoax to setup an attack from Bobby Lashley.
Rusev wants people to remember that these are characters on a television show, and everyone is simply acting. “(Being professional) is what any other actor does, you know, when you’re going to step on stage or whatever. This is no different than that.” Rusev stated.
He spoke on how much reaction the angle has been getting, with millions of views on Youtube. “The numbers speak for itself, we’re the highest viewed YouTube video in a long, long time. I’m stoked about it.” he said.
Rusev added, “It’s just those super ultra fans in their basement that are trying to reject it, which it is what it is, you know, if you don’t like it, you don’t have to watch it.”
Lana’s “pregnancy” announcement currently has close to 2 million views on Youtube.
