New IWGP Heavyweight Champion Crowned At NJPW Dominion

New Japan Pro-Wrestling crowned a new IWGP Heavyweight World Champion during Monday’s Dominion event at Osaka-Jo Hall.

Shingo Takagi defeated Kazuchika Okada to win the vacant title during the main event of the show.

The match, which ended at 36:06, saw Takagi hit a running forearm, and his Made In Japan finisher to capture the win.

Following the match, Shingo called out Kota Ibushi, who defeated Jeff Cobb earlier in the night.

WIll Ospeay vacated the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship last month due to a neck injury. He was originally scheduled to defend the title against Wrestle Grand Slam, that show has since been postponed.
