Stardom wrestling star Hana Kimura has passed away.
While details surrounding the death have not been revealed, it appears that online bullying played a huge role.
Stardom confirmed the news with a press release Saturday.
Our company’s player, Hana Kimura, passed away today on May 23.
We apologize for the sudden concern and sorrow for our fans and all concerned.
Regarding the details, there are some parts that we have not yet grasped, and we will continue to cooperate with the investigation between the parties concerned.
We deeply pray for Hana Kimura’s life.
We will discuss the future with your relatives. In addition, we will also strive to care for the minds of other players.
That’s all.
Kimura had been at the receiving end of online bullying, following an episode of Japanese reality show Terrace House.
During the episode, she had a confrontation with a male housemate after he ruined the outfit she wore at the dark match prior to Wrestle Kingdom 14.
Just hours before her death, Kumura posted a message on social media, alongside self-harm photos.
Nearly 100 opinions every day. I couldn’t deny that I was hurt. I’m dead.
Thank you for giving me a mother. It was a life I wanted to be loved.
Thank you to everyone who supported me. I love it. I’m weak, I’m sorry. I don’t want to be a human anymore.
It was a life I wanted to be loved. Thank you, I love you. Bye.
Following the tragic news, the wrestling world began honoring the Japanese star on social media.
I tried to hold my laughter but once she said “I’m so muscle”, I couldn’t hold in the giggle.

Just woke up to this awful news. There are no words to appropriately describe just how tragic the passing of Hana Kimura is.
She was an extremely talented performer and by all accounts, a great person and a kind soul.
My thoughts go out to her friends and family.

Please, let’s ALL use social media for good! BLOCK and DELETE any page or person that brings you any pain, anger or insecurity. Follow people or pages that motivate you, that inspire you and that make you happy. I will not tolerate hate & bullying! I wish I could do more.
