Tama Tonga Says He’s No Longer Using ‘Too Sweet’ Following AEW Trademark Filing
NJPW superstar Tama Tonga fires off on the Bullet Club reunion happening on AEW and IMPACT, referring to the group as the “Bootleg Club.”
The current IWGP tag champion spoke on his Tama’s Island podcast about how the faction, which originated in Japan, has moved on from their past members and continue to push forward with their goals in NJPW. This comes after the Impact tag champion Good Brothers joined forces with AEW world champion Kenny Omega, with all three men dawning the Bullet Club t-shirt at the recent Hard To Kill pay per view. He even calls out WWE’s Finn Balor and AJ Styles, claiming they all have “no more say.”
I’m gonna correct everybody that’s been saying, ‘He’s an OG, he still has say.’ Are ya’ll fucking crazy? You haven’t been in the group for five years. You’ve gone on to ‘greener pastures.’ You don’t have no say in Bullet Club. You no longer claim Bullet Club. You were OC, Bullet Group, Bullet Brigade, Bullet Nobody Cares. How many times you gonna try? It’s not gonna work. I don’t care if you’re an OG. Prince Devitt [Finn Balor] has no say, AJ Styles has no say. Kenny Omega damn sure ain’t got no motherfuckin’ say in nothing.
Tonga also responded to AEW’s recent trademark filing for the popular “Too Sweet” phrase, something we reported about as soon as the news broke. He states that he could potentially send a Cease and Desist, but instead opts to let them have it as he and the actual Bullet Club have moved on.
The Too Sweet heard round the world,’ fuck all that nonsense. It’s wack, we’ve done moved on. I don’t care. We’re not using Too Sweet. By all means, take it. I would get the company to come in and cease and desist ya’ll, but I ain’t no snitch.
