“Filthy” Tom Lawlor has been crowned the first-ever NJPW Strong Openweight Champion.
In the finals of the New Japan Cup 2021 USA, Tom Lawlor defeated Brody King, winning both the tournament and the new championship.

Following the match, Chris Dickinson issued a challenge to Lawlor for his newly won title.
Tom Lawlor is the second person to win the New Japan Cup USA. KENTA was crowned tournament winner in 2020.
