Despite WWE not making an official announcement regarding Roman Reigns pulling out of Wrestlemania 36, Triple H spoke on the situation with Sportscenter’s John Anderson.
When asked about why the match between Roman Reigns and Goldberg had to be altered, Triple H mentioned Roman Reigns have a pre-existing condition that would make him more susceptible to catch something.
“I don’t want to get into the specifics of Wrestlemania, because that’s a must watch event” Triple H stated. “We don’t like to take precautions with out talent anymore than they need to, and all of our talent are in this in a voluntary capacity.

He stated that if any talent did not feel comfortable performing, they would be not be forced to, and them making that decision will not be held against them.
“If they don’t want to be a part of this, if they feel this is a risk, for whatever reason, be it themselves or somebody around them, they don’t have to be here, and nothing is held against them”.
Roman Reigns was present at the WWE Performance Center day one of Wrestlemania 36 tapings on Wednesday, but decided he did not want to move forward with his match.
Roman has a lowered immune system due to his battle with leukemia, and felt it would be in his best interest to not compete.
“With Roman having a pre-existing condition that would make him more susceptible to something, it’s understandable. We’ve had very few talent who have had issues, or chosen to not be here”
Reigns was replaced by Braun Strowman in the WWE Universal Championship match at the event,
Several other stars including Buddy Murphy, The Miz, Dana Brooke, and Rey Mysterio were also absent due to illness and precautionary measures.
WWE has a strict protocol where anyone who enters the WWE Performance Center is screened to ensure they are healthy
