NXT UK Contract Restrictions Only Apply To Certain Talent

The biggest story coming out of last week’s NXT UK TV tapings was the announcement of NXT UK Takeover, but behind the scenes the big news was new contracts offered to several talent, and restrictions placed on them.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, NXT UK has three tiers of talent on the roster. They have lower-level talent who have been told nothing about changes, and business is as usual. They have second tier talent who have contract rollovers for another year, and are not getting a raise. The second level can still work other promotions, but not against any talent that the WWE says comes from competitive promotions. The third level of talent are the top group of stars who were given raises, and are exclusive to the brand. These talent are the ones that have heavy restrictions on which companies they can work for.

Key Talent Who Signed New Exclusive Deals

The following names are the top-level talent who are received a pay increase and will have the most restrictions as they are signed to exclusive NXT UK deals.

Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate, Trent Seven, Toni Storm, Rhea Ripley, Eddie Dennis, Dave Mastiff, Jordan Devlin, Zack Gibson, James Drake, El Ligero, Mark Andrews, Joseph Conners, Mark & Joe Coffey, Wolfgang, Travis Banks and Flash Morgan Webster.

Talent who were given new exclusive contracts were told that they can honor all bookings until the end of the year, and can only work events where a paramedic is presents.

As previously reported this week, the WWE is allowing another North American independent promotion to book top talent in the future, and details should be announced soon.
