The changes to NXT could be set to continue.

Last week saw the debut of NXT 2.0, a revamped version of WWE’s developmental brand. This included a new logo, theming, and a clear focus on new upcoming talents.

Various new names made their official debuts last week, with Bron Breakker, the son of Rick Steiner, receiving a significant push by confronting newly-crowned NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa at the end of the show.

The new theming saw an end to the black and gold look of NXT, opting for a brighter, more colorful theme as opposed to Triple H’s gritty, dark brand.

However according to Fightful Select (subscription required), NXT’s target audience could be set to change with discussions to bring an edgier product.

These ideas came directly from Vince McMahon – who has reportedly taken a bigger role within NXT since the revamp – and included NXT 2.0 targeting more of a P18-34 demographic due to more aggression and harsher language.

“Keep up with current affairs with promos and character verbiage” was another point noted during the discussions, along with more lenience on female character gear, though this wasn’t verified.

While these changes haven’t yet been confirmed to be going ahead, one talent noted to Fightful that they hadn’t been made aware.
