Following the match, Ospreay called out former champion Kazuchika Okada, seeking revenge for his loss at Wrestle Kingdom 15. Shingo Takagi then challenged Ospreay to a match, stating he defeated Okada in the first round of the New Japan Cup, and deserves the first shot at the new champion.

AJ Styles took to Twitter to congratulate Ospreay on his win.
