8-Time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Harley Race died Thursday at the age of 76.
Race’s Twitter account confirmed the news this afternoon.
“Today at 12:50, we lost the man that fought up until the very last of his existence. More information will be released soon, but just know that he loved pro-wrestling and the fans that loved him. Harley Race, we love you”

Harley Race debuted in 1960, working for ever major promotion including AWA, NWA, WW, and WCW. He is best known for his feuds with fellow legends Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes.
Harley Race was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.
Earlier this year Ric Flair announced Race was diagnosed with lung cancer.
Harley Race’s official cause of death has yet to be announced.
