WWE will be taking a page out of AEW’s book, and place talent in the audience for up-coming TV tapings at the Performance Center in Orlando, FL.
According to Fightful Select (subscription required), WWE sent an internal memo advising several talents from NXT that they were needed for RAW and SmackDown tapings.
WWE will be using talent as audience members beginning today for the RAW and Main Event tapings.
Multiple talents were asked to participate, including Dominick Dikjkovic, Chelsea Green, Shotzi Blackheart, and Jessamyn Duke.
WWE does not have plans to show talent on-camera, instead they are looking create “an environment to better fit the WWE brand”. This differs from All Elite Wrestling, who has talent shown on-camera.
Talent screened by medical staff Monday morning at an offsite location. They were prohibited to travel to the Performance Center on their own, instead being bussed by WWE in groups. Those who are participating have also been given air conditioned tents.
The report does indicate WWE will be using hockey glass around the barriers ringside, with talent spaced out at least six feet apart.
It’s unknown if the company plans to use a similar format for their NXT programming.
