New WWE Signing Seemingly Confirmed With New Trademark Filing

WWE has filed a new trademark for the name Dante Rios.

The trademark was filed on 1/28 under the entertainment services classification with The United States Patent and Trademark Office.

International Class 041: Wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports via an online community portal

Intent to Use: The applicant has a bona fide intention, and is entitled, to use the mark in commerce on or in connection with the identified goods/services.

Dante Rios is best known for his work in the independent scene under his real name Daniel Garcia. He most recently appeared on NXT television, losing to Tyler Rust.

He made two appearances for AEW Dark last year, working alongside fellow Buffalo wrestler Kevin Blackwood.  He also appeared at GCW’s ‘Fight Forever’ 24 hour stream last week.

Daniel Garcia was seriously injured in January 2019, when he and Kevin Blackwood were driving back to Buffalo from an independent show in Montreal. Their vehicle hit a patch of black ice and crashed, causing Garcia to suffer two broken legs. The wrestling community setup a GoFundMe to assist with medical expenses.

Based on WWE filing a trademark for his new name, it would appear he is signed to a deal with the company.
