Bruce Prichard is expected to retire from his full time role in WWE after WrestleMania season.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Prichard is expected to retire from his position as Executive Director of Creative Writing and Talent. Johnson reports that Prichard would remain connected to the company on a consulting basis, but would no longer keep his current duties and would no longer be based in Stamford, Connecticut. There could also be some leeway with the exact timing.
Fightful Select added more detail on what comes next for Prichard. Fightful reports that Prichard needs a very serious surgery, and that his plan is to work from home after that surgery. Fightful also notes that Prichard has been running shows over the past few weeks while Triple H was on vacation, and that an internal memo about his status was sent out earlier this year, though the details of that memo were not made public.
Prichard has been back with WWE as executive director since 2018, working alongside Vince McMahon and now Triple H. He has worked for WWE on and off since 1987. He debuted the Brother Love character in the summer of 1988, and he was the first manager of The Undertaker when The Undertaker arrived at Survivor Series in 1990.
Prichard has been in the wrestling business since 1973, when he started out selling posters for Paul Boesch in Houston at 10 years old. He later worked as a ring announcer and in television production before landing in WWE.
What is confirmed is the reporting itself, and that Prichard is expected to step back from his current role after WrestleMania season while staying connected to WWE in some form. What is not confirmed is an exact date, what his consulting role would cover, or any comment from WWE or Prichard himself.
