John Cena and Cody Rhodes will both appear on the special Wednesday edition of NXT on November 4.
WWE announced the appearances during the October 27 episode of NXT. Next week’s show will air on Wednesday instead of its usual Tuesday slot because of election coverage on The CW. That puts NXT directly against AEW Dynamite, which will present its Blood and Guts special that same night from Jacksonville, Florida.
Cena will appear live on the November 4 show. That appearance comes two days after his return to Raw on November 2 in Brooklyn, New York, where he is expected to share news about the John Cena Classic. WWE has not said what Cena will do on NXT.
Rhodes will be on hand to present the trophy to the winners of the 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The final is now set. Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno will face Hank and Tank, made up of Hank Walker and Tank Ledger.
Dar and Moreno reached the final by beating NXT Tag Team Champions The Vanity Project in the semifinals on October 27. Hank and Tank advanced by beating the AAA World Tag Team Champions, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno, in the other semifinal.
The November 4 show also has an unsanctioned match set. Dion Lennox will face Cruz Montana, continuing a feud that has built over recent weeks on NXT.
The move to Wednesday gives NXT a loaded show for the head to head night. Cena, Rhodes, a tournament final, and an unsanctioned match are all on the card, and the show will air opposite one of AEW’s biggest television specials of the year.
What is confirmed is the date, the move to Wednesday, both appearances, the tournament final, and the unsanctioned match. What is not confirmed is what Cena will do on the show, or whether his appearance will tie into the John Cena Classic.
