Liv Morgan picked up a win over her Crown Jewel opponent on Raw.
The match happened on Raw on November 2 in Brooklyn. Morgan teamed with Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez of The Judgment Day to take on WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green, Tiffany Stratton and IYO SKY in a six woman tag team match.
Morgan got the win for her team, pinning Green after hitting the ObLIVion. The finish came after a distraction, and Morgan capitalized to score the pinfall. It was Morgan’s first win on Raw since September, according to Sportskeeda.
The result gives Morgan momentum heading into Crown Jewel on Saturday, November 7 in Riyadh. Morgan, the Women’s World Champion, faces Green, the WWE Women’s Champion, in a Champion vs. Champion match for the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship.
Before the match, Morgan said Green can be happy holding her interim title, but at Crown Jewel Morgan would be the one with her hand raised and become the first ever two time Women’s Crown Jewel Champion.
The six woman match itself was action packed. Stratton hit her Prettiest Moonsault Ever on Morgan at one point and went for the pinfall, but Morgan’s teammate saved the match. That near fall set up the closing sequence, where Morgan found her opening on Green.
Green, for her part, has been presented as SmackDown’s Women’s Champion heading into Crown Jewel, and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis put her over on the taped SmackDown episode as well. A loss on Raw does not change her title, but it does change the story going into Saturday.
Morgan now heads to Riyadh with a pinfall win over the woman she faces for the Crown Jewel Championship. Green heads there looking to bounce back from being pinned on the go home Raw.
