Columbus Police Investigating Marty Jannetty Following Facebook Confession

Marty Jannetty is under police investigation following a Facebook post Wednesday morning.

Jannetty posted a shocking message on Facebook, seemingly confession to a murder of a man when he was 13-years old. The post, which has since been deleted has sparked media attention, as well as the Columbus Police Dept. in Georgia.

According to TMZ, the CPD issued a statement regarding Jannetty’s post. A spokesperson from the homicide/cold case division will be looking into missing person and unidentified remains cases that match Jannetty’s statement.

“We are going to look into this.” a spokesperson for the police department stated. “The first step will be seeing if we have any missing persons or unidentified remains cases that match the limited information in the post.”

The department states they have “several current active homicide investigations underway and they will have to remain the priority”.

Marty Jannetty has since been silent on social media, and has not returned any messages for a statement on the matter.

Jannetty last worked in 2018, but has still been active on independent scene doing meet and greets.
