Key Match For Wrestlemania 37 Revealed

WWE is already working on plans for Edge’s return following an injury sustained at the Backlash pay-per-view last month.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is planning Randy Orton vs. Edge in an “I Quit Match” at Wrestlemania 37. The match was originally scheduled for SummerSlam, but due to Edge tearing his triceps internal talks suggest it will happen next year.

Right now, and this can change 100 times (it seemed television this week along changed that many times), the plan is for Edge vs. Orton in an I Quit match as one of the key matches for next WrestleMania. It was already scheduled for SummerSlam before the Backlash “Best in the World” match took place, but Edge’s injury made that impossible

The report also noted that Edge has significant creative influence on the RAW brand, as does Daniel Bryan on SmackDown. Meltzer noted, ” The term I was given is they were part of the writing teams of the respective shows right now.”

Edge suffered a torn triceps during his match with Randy Orton at this past June’s Backlash pay-per-view. The injury required surgery, which has been completed. Edge is currently wearing an arm brace as seen in the photo below.
