WWE talent are being advised to no longer slap their leg when performing kicks during matches, the latest edict handed down by Vince McMahon.

Last week, reports emerged advising of the new order, with a memo reportedly sent to NXT talent last month.

Dave Meltzer spoke further on the reasoning behind the mandate during the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. Vince McMahon reportedly got upset when a wrestler on SmackDown did an obvious leg slap.

“At some point on a SmackDown show, somebody did a leg slapping deal, and Vince got mad because it was so obvious. Well it couldn’t have been that obvious, because if it was that obvious, you probably would have got really mad”

The report did not include the name of the wrestler who prompted McMahon to become upset. WWE has multiple signs backstage at the Thunderdome that read “Do Not Slap Leg When Kicking”. Signs are posted inside and outside the Gorilla Position.
