A rumored new WWE faction featuring Rusev, Ethan Page and Big Cass is not happening, at least not in the form reported.

According to Fightful Select, via Cageside Seats, if there were plans for a Rusev, Page and Cass stable, no one told Rusev, Page or Cass about them. That report pushes back on a report from Self Made PW, via SI.com’s The Takedown, which said last week that plans were set for the three to link up on Raw.

Page and Cass tagged together for the first time in WWE on the October 26 Raw, picking up a win over Chad Gable and Dragon Lee. The pair worked together occasionally in AEW, and they were stablemates in The Firm. Rusev worked with Page before he got hurt in July, and he recently confirmed he is ready to get back on television whenever WWE creative has plans for him.

Rusev was asked about the rumor directly by TMZ’s Inside The Ring, and he did not hold back. He called it a lazy idea, and he explained why his character would not go for it. He also noted that both reports could be right in a sense, because plans in WWE change by the hour and by the day depending on mood.

“Everything in WWE is just changing by the hour, by the minute, by the day,” Rusev said.

Monday nights are already faction heavy. The Judgment Day have been around for a while, The Vision followed, and The Bloodline have set up shop on Raw. Adding another group would only add to that crowd, which is part of why the report drew skepticism.

There is also a history factor. Cass has history with Lana from his earlier WWE days, which Rusev did not get into in detail, but it is another reason a simple grouping of the three would be complicated.

For now, the denial is the story. None of the three men have been told about the faction, according to Fightful Select, and Rusev has said publicly he has not heard anything about it. If WWE does put them together later, it will be a change of plan, not the plan reported last week.
