Some WWE Talent Do Not Want COVID-19 Vaccine

WWE is returning to the road next month, kicking off a 25-day tour with the July 16 episode of Friday Night SmackDown at the Toyota Center in Houston.

The company has been running PSA’s featuring stars from all three brands encouraging fans to get their COVID-19 vaccine, but some talent is not interested in taking the jab.

Dave Meltzer spoke on the situation during Wrestling Observer Radio, revealing talent in both NXT and the main roster have yet to get the vaccine and believe the company cannot make them get it.

“Is everybody vaccinated? Most people are, but there are people both in NXT and the main roster who have not been vaccinated. The company wants everyone to, but some of them don’t want to, and that’s that. So it’s not everyone. I know I was told from NXT that there are guys who believe the company can’t force them to do it, and they’re not going to get forced. They are the minority, but in fact, there are people who are not vaccinated in NXT, but most of the people are.”

Earlier this month, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler provided some insight on WWE’s vaccination policy, revealing talent who have yet to receive a shot will have to continue to wear a face mask and be tested before every event.

WWE is requesting everyone is “fully vaccinated before the next pay per view (Hell In A Cell) in June”, but will not force vaccinations.

The company recently branched out their vaccination PSA’s to India, with a new commercial produced alongside Unicef featuring Jinder Mahal, Bianca Belair, and Drew McIntyre.
