Update: Fightful Select (subscription required) has issued a new report regarding Retribution, revealing a “recent high level pitch” for the stable, “likely leading to a split or fracture”. Tentative plans were put into place early this week.

The report stresses, due to the nature of WWE programming, “this could be nixed completely”.

Time Is Almost Up For WWE’s Retribution Stable

Over the past six months, Retribution has been causing havoc over WWE. They started off by interrupting both Raw and SmackDown, destroying the sets, and scaring away wrestlers, before settling with the red brand.

However, over recent weeks, Mustafa Ali has yelled at his fellow teammates after suffering losses on Raw, most notably when T-Bar accidentally cost Mustafa Ali his United States Championship match. It now seems that the end is in sight for the team.

As per Mike Johnson during the “We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Name Show” on PWInsider Elite, Retribution’s time as a group is almost over.

One of the signs is that T-Bar recently altered his Twitter to ‘don’t blink’, with ‘Sunday’ as his bio. He has also begun to grow his hair out, potentially going back to being Dominik Dijakovic, a character we saw on NXT.

“I am told that the end of that group is very close. I saw that Donovan Dijakovic is growing this hair back, so he’s planning for life after T-Bar.”

T-Bar is now only following Mace’s non-Retribution account, as opposed to before when he followed all four of his fellow teammates.

Mustafa Ali recently spoke on the challenges faced with the Retribution stable. In an interview with TV Insider, Ali says it’s been hard to tell the story of who Retribution really is as a group.

“The talent is there. The biggest obstacle and challenge the group faces is the “Why.” Who are we? Why are we here? What’s our vendetta against WWE and corporate infrastructure? We have not been able to tell that story. Retribution is still an opportunity to be on TV every week. We’ve done stuff, and everyone is aware who is in the group. But we’re not able to address who we really are. I haven’t explained why I’m the leader and what power I hold over these people. I’d like to do so. The fans have been left to connect the dots, which I never like to do. It’s a three-hour show. Stuffing 5,000 pounds into a five-pound bag isn’t going to work. We have to take our time. We’re doing the best with the time we’re given.”

Mustafa Ali has a United States Championship match at tonight’s Fastlane Pay-Per-View, which you can watch via WWE Network or Peacock if you are inside the US.
