WWE 2K Battlegrounds is set for release this week, with retailers offering the video game for sale on 9/18.
Twitch streamers newLegacyInc streamed the game live Thursday evening. It appears they have obtained an early copy of the game.
During the stream, a loading screen explaining the Royal Rumble match featured a surprising cameo, former IMPACT World Champion Tessa Blanchard. It’s unknown why an image of her is featured in the game.

Following her departure from IMPACT Wrestling, Tessa Blanchard’s name has been a hot topic, with many wondering what her next move may be. There has some been some interest from WWE, but it’s unknown if this appearance is related. Based on the photo being during her time in IMPACT Wrestling, that does not seem to be the case.
Some fans are speculating that she was simply used as a placeholder in an early copy of the game, but no official reason has yet to confirmed.
Blanchard returned to the United States last week, dropping the Warrior Wrestling Women’s Championship to Kylie Rae. She has been out of action during the pandemic, living in Mexico with her partner, IMPACT Wrestling star Daga.
