Gerald Briscoe has issued a statement indicating he was furloughed by the company, and not released from his contract.

WWE hopes to bring back furloughed employees back to work in under six months.


WWE Hall Of Famer Gerald Brisco was part of the recent WWE releases.

According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, Geraldo Brisco was part of the recent cuts WWE made, he worked as an advisor to Vince McMahon.

He worked in the office with McMahon and was one of his most trusted advisors, being one of the very few people told ahead of time about the 1997 screwjob on Bret Hart.

Gerald Brisco began working for WWE as a road agent and backstage producer in 1985.

He’s best known to modern fans for his on-screen role as one of Vince McMahon’s “stooges” alongside Pat Patterson.

He discovered Brock Lesnar during his time at the University of Minnesota, and has been the driving force behind signing almost all top amateur wrestlers in the last 25 years.

His most recent WWE on-screen appearance was at the RAW Reunion, where he briefly held the 24/7 Championship.

Brisco had a storied pro-wrestling career, debuting in 1969. He was inducted in the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2008.
