WWE could be losing one of its biggest stars from NXT later this year.
According to Fightful Select (subscription required), NXT Triple Crown Champion Johnny Gargano’s WWE contract is expiring on December 3, 2021. The report notes WWE has yet to enter into negotiations with Gargano to extend his deal, but are “expected to” in the fall.
WWE sources revealed the company believed Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano’s contract were both expiring later this deal, and they planned to speak with both of them about signing new contracts. Cole’s contract ended up being over a lot sooner than expected, hence why he was able to sign a deal with All Elite Wrestling.
It was previously reported, Kevin Owens contract would be expiring in January 2022.
