Tommaso Ciampa Speaks On Possibly Of Main Roster Run

Tommaso Ciampa has clarified the “misconstrued” preconceived notion from a 2019 interview that he would decide to retire if WWE attempted to move him up to Raw or Smackdown whilst talking with Lillian Garcia.

During an interview with Fightful, the NXT star went on to mention how the schedule is what holds him back from being interested in a main roster stint, as his priority is to make and spend time with his wife and daughter. Ciampa states, “NXT provides a much lighter load,” for him.

The former NXT Champion also has a history of neck problems and goes on to discuss how he knows his neck could not handle being on the road for 300 days of the year. He describes it as “reality and truth.” Ciampa mentions later on in the interview that the storylines and creative process is not the reason he would not take on a full-time role on the main roster, stating, “I don’t care about a fake storyline as much as people think.”

One main roster star that the former NXT Tag Team Champion showed interest in facing is Rey Mysterio, who he described as a “legit living legend.” Ciampa ends off the interview by discussing how he loves, “the idea of being challenged,” in ways that he has not been challenged and stating that he feels healthy, but he knows that his body does have limits.
