WWE has released former UFC Champion Cain Velasquez.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Cain Velasquez was released from his multi-year contract with WWE.

“They haven’t used him since Saudi Arabia” Meltzer stated “They signed him to a multi-year deal, now that they are cutting back. One of the things in those deals is they got the right to cut people”

Cain Velasquez worked two matches since signing with the company, one against Brock Lesnar at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia last year, and the other at a live event in Mexico City.

Velasquez was originally scheduled to be a part of the 2020 Royal Rumble, but those plans changed for unknown reasons.

It’s unknown what plans Velasquez has going forward.
