WWE has re-scheduled their Backlash PPV this June, following an internal announcement the scheduled date was cancelled.
The PPV was originally scheduled for June 16 in San Diego, CA, but was cancelled due to it being so close to WWE’s next Saudi Arabia PPV on June 7.
According to Dave Meltzer in today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE still plans on running San Diego for a live event, and Backlash will be moved to June 23 in Tacoma, WA.
WWE had no scheduled show in Tacoma, but will be in the area doing live events that weekend. The thought is Tacoma had an open date with a venue big enough to hold a WWE PPV.
The company has yet to announce these dates, and further changes could occur.
