Over recent months, wrestlers have started to use platforms such as Twitch and YouTube to interact with fans whilst being away from the ring. Superstars such as Paige, AJ Styles, Mia Yim and Zelina Vega have used Twitch to stream games and chat with their fans among many others.

However last month, it was revealed that WWE no longer wanted their superstars to use third party platforms. Vince McMahon sent out a company-wide email informing superstars that they would have four weeks to close their accounts before receiving penalties from the company.

2020 US Presidential candidate Andrew Yang spoke out about the problem, saying that it would be ‘infuriating’ to him if he had spent time building up his social media channels only to have WWE take them over.

It now seems that time is up for the superstars Twitch channels, with Mia Yim and AJ Styles, and Cesaro revealing via Twitter and Discord that they will no longer be streaming on their channels for the time being, with other superstars sure to follow soon.

Cesaro stated he didn’t know when he would stream again, and performed “one last raid” before signing off his channel.

AJ Styles posted the following message –

I want to thank you all for the great memories on Mixer and Twitch. I will cherish these memories and I love everyone one of you that have made this possible and supported me. As many of you know WWE is making some changes that involve streaming. We will see what the future holds in that regard. With that being said I will be suspending Stylesclash stream. This isn’t good bye, but this is see you sometime in the future. We will leave discord open, but since it won’t be monitored we will be making changes. Chris or I will let you know what that looks like once we figure it out. If you see me at the arenas or wherever be sure to let me know you’re part of the phenomenal family. Again this isn’t the end it’s just a pause. Thank you again for your support.

A moderator of Zelina Vega and Aleister Black’s channel mentioned on Discord that the situation will be addressed by Zelina & Aleister (real names Thea and Tom) in their own time, urging fans not to ask about the issues.

Paige, who has over 140k twitch followers, also mentioned on her Twitch that her last stream will take place on Saturday.
