WWE has changed its course in how they present television over the next few weeks.
The company originally had plans to pre-record several weeks of footage leading up to WWE Money In The Bank on 5/10.
According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, WWE decided to air live once again, beginning next week.
WWE staff handed out a letter Friday informing talent they are “essential media” if questioned by law enforcement.
The State of Florida is under a “stay-at-home” order, informing only essential services to be open.
The order, which goes went into effect at on Friday, April 3 will last 30-days, and halt all non-essential actives.
“I’m issuing an executive order directing all Floridians to limit movements and personal interactions outside the home to only those necessary and essential activities,” Gov. Ron DeSantis stated. “We’re going to be in this for another 30 days and that’s just the reality that we find ourselves in.
The State of Florida has a long list of essential services, which includes “Newspapers, television, and other media”. It’s not clear whether WWE will fall under the “under media” category.
According to Dave Meltzer, WWE previously had plans to tape five episodes of SmackDown, five episodes of RAW, and several episodes of NXT.
SmackDown was to be taped Friday and Saturday, RAW on Sunday and Monday.
There is plans to pre-tape NXT this weekend at Full Sail University, but that may have now changed due to new plans from Vince McMahon.
WWE had plans to change the ring ropes, turnbuckles, and canvases in-between every match. It’s unknown which precautions they will have when they air live once again.
