WWE Production Dealing With Last Minute Changes
This past week on RAW Vince McMahon dressed up as Santa Claus to announce the WWE would introduce Women’s Tag-Team Titles, as well as John Cena’s return, and a Steel Cage Match for the New Year’s Eve edition of RAW.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the backstage segment with Vince McMahon was something filmed at the last minute, and inserted into episode of RAW which was taped the week prior in Sacramento.
This addition was done after the commentators recorded any changes to the commentary track, and was inserted as a last minute addition.
Vince McMahon has been making various last minute changes as of late, by re-writing scripts prior to RAW and Smackdown, as well as changing plans for up-coming events, including the Royal Rumble.
Vince decided to re-evaluate existing plans for the Royal Rumble, which was caused confusion when they announced a Becky Lynch vs. Asuka match for the pay-per-view. The match was announced on The Main Event program, then retracted due to production and creative not being on the same page with communication.
They ended up making that into a storyline on social media with Paige being instructed to tweet out a reason why it was scrapped.
Now that Vince McMahon has introduced the “fresh start” a number of creative changes have taken place, and we could expect him to continue to make changes going forward.
