The man who broke into Sonya Deville’s home, with the intention to hold her hostage will be facing a judge later this week to see if he can post bond to be released.
As first reported by PWInsider, Philip Thomas II will have a pre-trial hearing on Thursday, August 20 in a Hillsborough area courtroom. Thomas is charged with Aggravated Stalking, Armed Burglary of a Dwelling, Attempted Armed Kidnapping, and Criminal Mischief.
According to arrest records, Thomas is facing a pre-trial bond hearing for 3 out of the 4 charges, with the Criminal Mischief charge having a bond set at $250. If Thomas is released, conditions will likely be given after he posts bond on all charges prior to his actual trial.
Philip Thomas was arrested this past weekend after breaking into Sonya Deville’s home. He traveled overnight from South Carolina to Florida with the intention to take Deville hostage. Authorities found a knife, plastic zip ties, duct tape and mace.
Sonya Deville issued a statement following the incident, thanking everyone for their concern.
Thank you everyone for your love and concern. A very frightening experience but thankfully everyone is safe. A special thank you to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for their response and assistance. 🖤
