Flair Taken To Hospital In Tampa
Ric Flair was taken to hospital on Friday after falling outside a restaurant in Tampa, Florida.
According to TMZ, via WrestlingNews.co, Flair was at Wagamama on Friday morning when he got up from the bar, left his phone and drink behind, and walked across the street. He fell outside and cut his head and eye open. His eye was bleeding heavily, and he may have a concussion. He was loaded into an ambulance and taken to hospital.
There has been no official update on his condition.
Hours earlier, Flair cancelled his appearance at Washington State Horror Con in Seattle. He said he is dealing with a blood clot in his leg, his doctors have limited his travel to three to four hours, and he is scheduled for a procedure on the affected vein.
Flair, 77, is a two-time WWE Hall of Famer and a 16-time world champion. He is currently under contract with AEW.
The fall came on the same day as the blood clot announcement, but no report has said the two are connected. Flair first disclosed the blood clot in August. At the time, he still made a signing appearance in Philadelphia.
In his post on Friday, Flair apologized to his agent Steve Solomon, the convention, and his fans in Seattle. He said he had to put his health first, and that his doctors expect him to be cleared for longer travel after the procedure on the vein.
What is not known yet is how serious the fall injuries are, how long he will stay in hospital, and whether the fall changes the timing of that procedure. His representatives have not put out a detailed update on his condition.
As more details are known, an update will be provided.
