CM Punk against Kevin Owens on November 6 will now be a No Holds Barred match.
The stipulation was revealed on SmackDown this week for their match on the November 6 edition of the show. Punk and Owens last faced each other on the August 21 edition of SmackDown, when Owens challenged Punk for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
No Holds Barred means there will be no disqualifications and no countouts, which fits a rivalry that has already turned physical. Owens and Punk have been at odds for months, and the added stipulation raises the stakes for their next meeting.
The November 6 SmackDown is the go home show for Crown Jewel, which takes place on November 7 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Their match is now one of the biggest matches on the go home episode, one night before the premium live event.
Punk and Owens are both former world champions, and their August meeting ended with Punk keeping the Undisputed WWE Championship. Owens has been chasing another title shot since then, and a No Holds Barred match gives him a different kind of fight to the one he lost in August.
WWE has not announced any further matches for November 6 yet beyond Punk against Owens. The rest of the card for the go home show is expected to be filled out in the coming days, with Crown Jewel looming.
What is confirmed is the stipulation, the November 6 date, and their August 21 history. What is not confirmed is the rest of the November 6 card, or whether the winner will get anything beyond bragging rights heading into Crown Jewel week.
