Ric Flair Is AEW Bound

The legendary Ric Flair recently asked WWE and their Chairman Vince McMahon for his release so he could pursue other ventures in his career. Now a new report indicates that may include some work with WWE’s newest competitor, AEW.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Nature Boy seems to be “locked” in for AEW whenever he’s legally able to appear. No word currently on when Flair’s non-compete clause for WWE would end. If the clause was for the traditional 90-days then the former 16-time world champion would not be available until November.

Flair did state in several interviews that he is still in good shape and would love to make an in-ring return, although it is speculated that he would be brought in for a managerial role. He also stated that the reason he left WWE was because the two didn’t see eye to eye on creative decisions, but that both left on positive terms.
