AOP Take To Twitter, Responding To Retirement Rumors

Former WWE stars Authors of Pain have responded to rumors they have retired.

Earlier today, Fightful Select (subscription required) ran a story speaking on the future of the team, following their release from WWE last year. The report indicated their name was brought up to AEW management, but they “weren’t sure if they were a good fit at the time”.

The report added, both members are currently working regular jobs since their WWE exit.

Following the initial report, a wrestling promotor reached out to Fightful indicating both men had “retired”. It was unknown if this came from AOP themselves, or representatives for the pair.

Sunny Dhinsa (Akam) and Gzim Selmani (Rezar) too to Twitter Wednesday evening, seemingly responding to these rumors with an identical statement.

AOP was released from their WWE contracts last September.

During their time in WWE they captured the NXT Tag Team Championship, Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, and the RAW Tag Team Championship
